Sojourner Home, Herland Family Center and Brookwood Center provide residential treatment for alcohol and other drug dependence/abuse to women over the age of 18 and their dependent children. Child care is provided on site while in programming.
Upon admission, you will remain in the facility during the initial seven day introductory period. With no visits or phone calls, other than children, for the introductory period, your adjustment to the program is easier. Also within the first 21 days you will receive a physical exam.
Your day begins with breakfast. Programs run from 8:00AM to 4:30 PM. Pro social activities take place in the evenings. After the introductory period, visiting hours are on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. Also after 14 days you can begin receiving Therapeutic Leaves of Absence (TLOA) on the weekends to practice skills learned in treatment.
Once admitted to treatment your primary clinician completes an assessment review to evaluate any changes that have taken place in the interim between assessment and admission. This information in conjunction with staff observation is taken to the first clinical staffing where a team decision is made as to which therapy model to use based on issues, skills, strengths and limitations. Clinical Staffing is a comprehensive review of your involvement in treatment and is conducted once every two weeks.
Sojourner uses treatment methodologies such a Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, 12 Step Facilitation, Skill Building and Seeking Safety. We also utilize medication assisted treatment as well acupuncture detoxification treatment. In addition we offer a prenatal program for women who are pregnant or up to one year post partum.
Once a therapy model is chosen the clinician works closely with you threading that approach through your treatment program. Along with individual counseling you will attend group therapy programs, life skills group sessions, parenting education group sessions, chemical dependency education classes and Family sessions. Every two weeks Treatment Plans are developed between you and your clinician to fit your specific needs.
Length of stay is contingent upon your progress in treatment and highly individualized based on your specific needs. While our emphasis is chemical dependency, other areas of concern for you and your family are addressed as well. To maintain a holistic approach, significant focus and effort is put forth to identify special needs and refer you to the appropriate sources. We have developed strong collaborative relationships with many community resources. Case managers ensure treatment support and assist in transportation to needed services in the community.
All treatment services are provided by licensed professionals, in compliance with ODADAS and Sojourner Recovery Services Standards of Care. |
