Adolescent Intensive Outpatient treatment is located at 1430 University Boulevard across from Miami University’s Hamilton campus. We provide comprehensive counseling services for young men and women of age 13 through age 18 with substance abuse and/or related mental health issues. Programming takes place four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Sessions begin at 4:30 PM and conclude at 6:30 PM.
Once admitted to treatment your primary clinician completes an assessment review to evaluate any changes that have taken place in the interim between assessment and admission. This information in conjunction with staff observation is taken to the first clinical staffing where a team decision is made as to which therapy model to use based on issues, skills, strengths and limitations. Clinical Staffing is a comprehensive review of your involvement in treatment and is conducted once every two weeks.
Sojourner uses The Seven Challenges, written by Dr. Robert Schwebel, in our Adolescent Programs. This is highly individualized approach allowing you and your family to work at your own pace. In addition other therapy modules include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Skill Building.
Length of stay is contingent upon your progress in treatment and highly individualized based on your specific needs. While our emphasis is chemical dependency, other areas of concern for you and your family are addressed as well. To maintain a holistic approach, significant focus and effort is put forth to identify special needs and refer you to the appropriate sources. We have developed strong collaborative relationships with many community resources.
All treatment services are provided by licensed professionals, in compliance with ODADAS and Sojourner Recovery Services Standards of Care. |
